I thought it was about time i updated here. With all the problems that LJ is having just recently, it makes sense to keep this up and running. I'm still not familiar with finding my way around.. maybe i need to read the faq's a bit more thoroughly. I'm also going to have a bit of a scout around to see if there's any more people here from my LJ flist. So if you suddenly see yourself friended, then you'll know why..

I'm here quite often, but mostly just to post, or rather cross-post, not to look at my Reading Page! :)

Info on cross-posting is here. I do it all the time, but I don't have the gizmo enabled that puts the little message on the LJ end.

Reading page? .. ah, friends page. Oh, it takes some getting used to this terminology..lol!

So you post both here and at LJ, together? Do you get replies then at different places?

I really only use this DW journal as a back-up. But because you can only cross-post from DW and not to it, I generally put my posts together here, and x-post them to LJ. The alternative would be to post at LJ, and then copy and paste it here - which I do sometimes if I forget!

I don't think many of my friends actually read here - it's just a duplicate of my LJ, after all. But yes, I've occasionally had comments on both entries. (Comments here don't get x-posted, even if the post was.)

I'm really hoping that LJ will get back to normal soon and there won't be any need for panic. But it's nice to have a 'safety net' so to speak. It's working fine today, thank goodness.

I've spent a lot of time with the FAQs and they're helpful. I've done a layout, chosen mood theme icons, transferred my bio and interests info from LJ, learned how to do an lj-cut (it's just cut here, no lj- in front of it.) and learned how to write names in the Dreamwidth style, like bellewood. It's a bit different.

Unfortunately, none of their layout styles support photos on the layout page. Maybe someday they'll incorporate that.

I haven't tried to crosspost from here to LJ but I often import entries from LJ to here. Usually, it's quick and easy but there are delays of up to 24 hours now. Often, it just gives up.

I just tried again and it said "import aborted" when trying to import any comments after March 15. *sigh*
